The Ascolan Lords is more than a Guild Wars Guild, it is a community. Above all, we value our friendships. While we may never meet in real life, our caring for each other is something we value almost as much, or sometimes as much, as our “real life” relationships. Our guild members range in age from 10 years old to 45 years old with most being from 15 to 30. We have almost as many real life women as we have men which is odd for Guild Wars but is fun for us. We mostly come from the United States but also have people from Brazil and Australia and have no limits on geography. We do have a no cussing rule as we have some young kids in the guild and also in the alliance.
To keep our friendships and our sense of community alive, we like to do a lot of things together. We aren’t a particular type of guild, instead, we like to do it all. We enjoy our training for Guild vs Guild as much as our parties on the various Guild Wars holidays. Not only do we have regular group events (see below) on almost every day of the week, we also commonly form small groups to play together for any purpose, capping elite skills, doing an Alliance Battle run, helping someone finish a mission or quest, or just farming for things to sell to make some money while laughing and joking with each other.
We are the lead members of a small alliance with one other guild. That guild is our PvP branch and the leaders are also long term friends over many game systems. All in all, the main point of the alliance is offering more choices to play in a variety of ways to all alliance members. We are accepting applications for guilds who wish to join the alliance. You can apply on the forums. http://theascolanlords.com/
We are currently accepting new members. We try and nurture our new members so that they can find their way into our group. Often in tight knit communities like ours, people who join often never really feel like they fit. We actively work to prevent that feeling. Of course, we won’t be the right guild for everyone, but if you match up in other ways, you are unlikely to feel unwelcome simply due to how close the core group is. We don’t believe in cliques, we believe in community. We don't tend to give a lot of free stuff however until we know you are really part of the community. We have had too many folks come for free stuff then leave a week later.
Please feel free to browse our web site at http://theascolanlords.com/. You may apply to be able to post on the forums if you wish to become a friend of The Ascolan Lords. If you feel you like us enough and want to try out becoming a member, you are also welcome to do that.
For further questions or to apply to the guild, please contact [email protected] or find me in game as Cross Fit. I will usually get back to you within a day or so.
Yes, if you are wondering, we don't spell Ascolan like they do in Guild Wars. Actually, they spelled it wrong first. We were the originals Lords there and when they created the game, they simply found us there as if we had emerged from a mirror universe where things are spelled wrong. To protect themselves from copyright issues, they changed their spelling but by then we had decided to stick around in the new world!
Okay, Okay. So, my 10 year old son was so excited to start the guild we had agreed on the night before that he created it before I woke up. but my first answer is much more fun.
